Frits Janse is a maritime art painter with subjects like shipping, sea and harbour views and painted portraits of the inland shipping
He had a technical education, had been sailing as engineer and started working in the process industry.
A main part of my live I had been drawing with no special education in that direction. I took some courses at the local People University and continued for some years in model drawing at the open university in Rotterdam where also made study of aquarelle and lithography.
Later I obtained an etching press and specialised myself .
I work a lot now with acrylic paint , aquarel and pen drawings with a special passion for maritime subjects
I get my inspiration from my direct surrounding like harbours and shipping. The fascination of the the clouds , stormy weather, choppy waters and fog bouts of which the atmosphere is shown in my work . Also the human factor in all his wildness attracts me, so I also paint al lot of work of this subject. Besides my free work, I also accept orders.
Work which i made has been sold to private hands abroad, and in my own country The Netherlands.
